One More Reason to Run

Multiple sources, including the New York Times, have reported recently that 7 hours is added to your life for every hour you run.  While the subjects were human, here's hoping that our canine companions receive this running reward, as they do so many others (think endorphin boost, increased heart rate, and more).

Running Tips from the Times

Finally, after a long winter of Netflix watching, spring has arrived.  And with spring's arrival, people often want to get off the couch and into fighting form.  I came across this helpful article in the New York Times, filled with great tips for both novice and experienced runners. Although, the writer failed to mention one great motivator: GET A HIGH ENERGY DOG WHO NEEDS TO RUN!!

Welcome Lucy!

Lucy joined the runners last month and is kicking butt; she runs like a champ and has demonstrated incredible behavioural benefits in a short time.  Prior to joining the run, Lucy needed up to 4 walks/day and acted out on a regular basis.   Her parents happily reported earlier this week that Lucy only requires one short additional walk and that she is calmer, more easy going, and on track to be the dog she is destined to be.  THIS is why we run.

Can't Stop ... These RUNNERS!!

First blog post and what better way to begin than with a video of 3 of K9 Kate's Pet Services shining superstars: Laila, Riley, and Dexter.  In this video, the dogs and I embark on a winter run around Trinity Bellwoods, set to the tune 'Can't Stop' by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
